The Position:
This job is both a general laborer position, the tasks of which will change daily to meet the needs of
the Crossroads School Facilities Department.
The Event Support Staff positions is expected to support all aspects of the Facilities Department at
Crossroads.This position is primarily a general labor position, in which the daily responsibilities
include moving furniture around campus, setting up and dismantling tables and chairs for School
events. There is also an occasional need to support other parts of the Facilities Department. This
includes helping out with custodial, building maintenance and a wide range of campus projects. The
tasks assigned will change daily to meet the needs of the Facilities Department as the School as a
whole.

Operates in a variety of shifts of 5 hours
Part Time is a 25-29 hour a week commitment
Works on both campuses

Job Description
Moving furniture and other school gear between classrooms, offices and storage spaces
Setting up and taking down chairs, tables, AV gear, hospitality service etc for events.
The setup and take down of athletic equipment such as volleyball nets, team chairs and
scoreboard controls
Interact with players, coaches, parents, referees and give direction/guidance where needed
Loading and unloading trucks
Basic repairs, assembling office furniture
Dismantling, assembling and making light repairs to various school gear
Monitoring, cleaning and maintaining gym, fitness equipment and facility gear
General housekeeping such as sweeping, mopping, disinfecting surfaces, cleaning spills, power-
washing and other such tasks
Able to complete any list or project set out by the Facilities Director, the Facilities Crew
Managers (including Custodial) or Plant Maintenance Supervisors

Physical Demands
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate miscellaneous equipment
Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching
Walking or standing for extended periods
Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally
Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling heavy objects as assigned per work request forms
Must be able to lift 50lbs for various miscellaneous tasks

Special Skills & Expectations
Must be capable of working independently.
Must be cooperative and willing to follow instructions.
Able to work well with others.
Prefer someone who can be flexible with scheduling when needed.
Will be required to use personal protective equipment when needed.
All school gear must be treated with the utmost care.
Preferred: A driver’s license with a clean abstract, ability and willingness to drive school vehicles
(13-foot stake-bed trucks)
