POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Non - Exempt
SUPERVISOR: Executive Director

POSITION PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for the recruitment and leadership of the volunteer program. To provide training to volunteer staff to
enable them to provide direct client services to crime victims. Ensure collaboration with community agencies and build
community awareness of issues related to domestic and sexual violence. To supervise the volunteer staff, ensure
coverage of shifts, process time cards.



QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Associates degree preferred. Experience advocating for victims of domestic
and sexual violence preferred. Computer skills necessary. Must have demonstrated management skills and experience.
Must successfully complete a criminal history background check.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
Working knowledge of direct service programming to victims of domestic and sexual violence. 
Demonstrated ability to express ideas clearly and concisely. 
Ability to work independently and cooperatively. 
Strong organizational, critical thinking and analytical skills. 
Strong commitment to the mission, goals, and services of Safe Avenues. 
Skilled in managing crisis situations, and communication of difficult topics. 
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships 
Ability to guide, direct, and motivate employees. 
Ability to relate to and accept population served.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Ensures that quality programming meets the needs of victims of domestic and sexual violence.

Tasks:
1) Recruits volunteer staff to provide direct services to crime victims.

2) Coordinate orientation, training, and scheduling of volunteer staff.

3) Supervises volunteer services/staff

4) Facilitates volunteer staff meetings to ensure quality services are provided to clients.

5) Develops volunteer program surveys; evaluates program services



6) Develop and maintain a volunteer handbook and policies manual

7) Meets with the Executive Director regularly


B. Ensures completion of grant goals for the program.

Tasks:
1) Ensure completion of program standards and grant goals.

2) Work with volunteer staff to collect and report documentation of service statistics.

3) Maintain filing system to keep track of cases and goal attainment.

4) Assures assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget


C. The Director will be an active participant of the Safe Avenues Team.

Tasks:
1) Attend all required trainings.

2) Attend and participate in Safe Avenues staff meetings and case consultation meetings.

3) Attend trainings that maintain skills and promote methods of providing quality services to victims of

domestic and sexual violence.

4) Follow all policies and procedures of Safe Avenues.

5) Provide support in accomplishing program goals.

6) Positively interact with individuals, organizations, and system partners to further develop cooperative

and collaborative efforts in responding to client needs.

7) Represent programs, employees, and administrative direction positively.

8) Actively seek out supervisor when assistance is needed.

9) When exercising duties, consciously consider the welfare of clientele and program.

10) Take responsibility for assigned duties and show initiative in seeking additional duties.

11) Complete other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
