Behavioral Support Staff (Full & Part Time Available)

Please note: If you do not answer all of the questions accompanying this ad in full, your application will not be considered.

David is an 18 year old diagnosed with autism. He and his parents are looking for someone to support him at home and in the community (Ladera Heights/90056 area). There are a variety of shifts available, both full time (32 to 40 hours per week, which would include some weekend hours) and part time (16 to 24 hours per week, which could include some weekend hours). For the right person, there may be an opportunity for weekend shifts and/or additional hours during school holidays and/or summer break. You will be assisting David with daily activities, like hygiene/hand washing and chores, and you will also be providing him with the constant supervision he requires and redirecting challenging behaviors. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to accompany David on his weekly Crumbl trip to try out the new flavors!

Due to David’s autism, he receives funding from the Westside Regional Center (https://westsiderc.org/) to meet his needs and for this service and staff. He is part of the Self-Determination Program (https://westsiderc.org/about-the-program/), which is why his family can select their own staff. Specifically, you will be hired by a Financial Management Service (FMS), Aveanna, as a W-2 employee paid hourly at a rate of $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on experience; payment will be twice per month. You must be able to pass a background check to qualify for this position, as well as have reliable transportation to arrive promptly and consistently to the work site, as well as to drive David as needed. Your driving record must be acceptable to the FMS agency and associated insurance. Aveanna will be your Employer of Record and who you will report on your taxes.
